Duat Polyphemus Original Oil Painting
"Duat Polyphemus (“Moth of Death”) was born from a vision of a moth with an eye in its bodice. The Moth of Death. Moths represent death across many cultures and have for centuries. Some folklore associated a moth flying through the front door of a home to mean death will soon enter. For me, moths are welcome friends. Death is a complex transformation, and initiation through a portal into another experience. Death is required for life to be born, and as energy is never destroyed - only transformed - we are reborn in our transformations and deaths. The deaths of old selves, of old timelines. Death and transFORMation was on my consciousness as Duat Polyphemus was born. This painting was crafted with intention and magick. It will act as a portal to the Divine infinitely, as long as it exists. I am eager to see who it has chosen to receive this sacred gift.
At the show, when I unveiled this finished work, I was outside getting some air when a moth visited and landed on my shoulder, lingering for a moment. God stopping by my art show. Manifesting in the smallest details of my experience. True magick.”
